Liberty Hoopla: Off-Season, Schmoff-Season
by: New York Liberty
Greetings, from the land of Liberty.
It's the third week of January, we're well past our holiday daze and making strides to get psyched for this 12th season we're cooking up. Our sales team is plugging away, the coaches are out and about scouting, the marketing folks are doing their thing, the new interns are getting adjusted and the players are hard at work on the courts.
To sum it up: We're busy. Off-season, schmoff-season.
Did you all read Lisa [Willis]'s inspiring New Year's resolution? She makes us so proud (tear)!
Speaking of resolutions, Tiffany [Jackson] and Shameka [Christon] checked in to share theirs with us. Tiff wants to curb her cursing habit, and is sure she's going to break it quickly. And Meka wants to do more for her community. Nice. Loree [Moore] has joined the rest of her teammates by taking her game overseas. Good luck learning Russian, L. Mo!
We'd like to clarify something that has come to surface in the past few weeks ??? questioning if everyone writes their own Hoopla entries. Let's set the record straight: No one on the Liberty staff can attempt to come close to creating the same level of humor that Janel [McCarville] and Coach [Pat] Coyle bring to the table. There are no ghost writers. Everyone pens their own entry. It takes a team, and we're all doing our part ??? which means whipping up a little something for the love of the blog and most notably, our fans.
This week you'll once again be hearing from the one and only J-Mac, Coach Hamburger and one of our talented new interns.
Alrighty, back to work for us. Keep on enjoying the Hoopla.
