- After falling to New Jersey 3-2 in the Shootout Sunday, the Rangers finished fifth in the Eastern Conference and will face the Devils in the first round of the playoffs starting Wednesday, April 9th.
Chien-Ming Wang threw six strong innings and was backed up once again by Joba Chamberlain and Mariano Rivera as the Yankees avoided a Tampa Bay sweep with a 2-0 win at Yankee Stadium Sunday.
- Memphis and Kansas will battle for the NCAA title tonight at the Alamo Dome after the schools dispatched fellow No. 1 seeds UCLA and UNC in Sunday's Final Four action.
- Johan Santana was brilliant in his second start as a Met, but the offense failed to deliver in a 3-1 loss to the arch-rival Atlanta Braves at Turner Field Sunday.
- Wilson Chandler had a career-high 23 points as the Knicks held off the Magic, 100-90, at The Garden Sunday night.
- The Olympic torch was extinguished and put on a bus for protection at least twice Monday as it moved through Paris amid heavy protests, including at least one attempt to rush a torch-bearer.
