Rangers Youth Camp: Session Two
Sanguinetti and Hillier hang with the campers
Rangers prospects Bobby Sanguinetti and Ryan Hillier are serving as guest instructors during Session Two of this year's Rangers Youth Hockey camp. In a joint effort, Bobby and Ryan are blogging from this week's camp.
Sanguinetti: Well, it's exciting to be here at summer camp again. This is my third year coaching, and it's great to see the returning campers; it just shows the kids have a good time.
Hillier: It is my third year also. The kids definitely enjoy themselves. Nick Fotiu had them working yesterday and JJ Daigneault worked them today. All the drills we do are up-tempo and the kids are always moving.
Sanguinetti: Jeremy Goodman, the strength and conditioning coach for the Hartford Wolf Pack, is here running the kids through dry-land and team-building exercises. When he is not with them, he is putting Ryan and I through an intense workout the rest of the day.
Hillier: Yeah, he is. We're doing some intense stuff in the weight room.
Sanguinetti: The only thing intense is Ryan Hillier on the ice with the kids! I think he has more fun than them; he's sniping goals on an eight-year-old. I mean, it’s great for the players, but think about the goalies.
Hillier: You call that sniping? Come on, I was having fun with the goalies. I do wish I had a picture of that move, though. It was sick.
