Former NJ High School Standout Joins Seton Hall's Coaching Staff
St. Anthony's alum will help out Gonzalez and the Pirate program
MSG has learned that former St. Anthony's High School of Jersey City standout and McDonald's All-American, Rodrick Rhodes, will be named Assistant to the Head Coach/Administrative Asst. at Seton Hall University.
Rhodes, a first team selection on MSG's tri-state basketball team in 1992, went on to star at Kentucky under Rick Pitino for three seasons before transferring to USC. He was drafted in the first round (24th overall) by the Houston Rockets.
The 35 year-old Jersey City native was a member of former UMass head coach Travis Ford's staff last season. Rhodes will have similar duties under Seton Hall head coach Bobby Gonzalez, while adding his vast basketball knowledge from the college and pro level to the Pirates' program.
While playing at St. Anthony's under legendary head coach Bob Hurley Sr., Rhodes won a USA Today National Championship in 1988. The Friars were also MSG's top high school team in the tri-state that season.
