Pivotal Play: Jets vs. Chiefs
Together we can make a difference!

There was only one minute left on the clock, and Brett Favre lined up 15 yards away from triumph. This day was certainly not the best day he has ever had as a pro, as his three interceptions singlehandedly put the Jets in great danger of losing to one of the worst teams in football.
Flanking Favre to the left was Laveranues Coles, the team's star wide receiver who was coming off a tumultuous week. The previous Sunday, Coles was brutalized in a hit, causing him to suffer a nasty concussion. Still, he soldiered through the game.
Jets fans suffered through their typical angst as Favre stood behind center. He took the ball and dropped back a quick three steps. He then lobbed the ball to a sprinting Coles who was at the goal line.
The ball was slightly underthrown. It looked like another blown opportunity for Coles when – no, that's not possible – he spun his body and reached out with his right arm. The ball fell into his hand like it was a fly landing on a melted fruit roll-up. He corralled the ball and took two gentle steps to ensure he was still in-bounds as he ducked into the corner of the end zone.

Touchdown, Jets. Victory, Jets.
Obstacles get in the way in life. For Brett Favre, he struggled all day long against an inferior opponent. For Laveranues Coles, he battled through a painful head injury. And, together, for one pivotal play, they overcame everything that was in their path.
