Everything You Wanted to Know About Brett Favre: Week 9
It's time to do the dishes
by: Gregory Gethard
Brett Favre is tragically ignored by the New York media. As such, every week we'll seek out the latest and greatest in Brett Favre news and share it with you here on Game On!.
9,648 – That's the number of results my Google Reader set up pulled in for news articles on Brett Favre. Last week, that figure stood at 10,558.
Deanna Favre loves her man.
In fact, she loves her man so much she blogs about him.
As reported by ESPN, Mrs. Brett Favre recently touched on her husband's controversy with the Detroit Lions on the website of the family's charity foundation. Here's what she wrote:
"Over the past couple of weeks, my heart has been very heavy. I have stood by ... silently ... watching the media continually attack my husband ... Certainly, having been in public life for 18 years, this is not new to us. However, this latest round of media scrutiny has been harder, more disheartening and seemingly unending."
I have a very happy marriage. But I think my marriage could be happier if my wife was a lot more like Deanna Favre. I'd love to have someone back me up in public the next time I decide to cheat at board games in order to beat people whom I want to crush.
I asked my wife if she would blog about me. She laughed in my face. Then she asked me what a blog was. (She's not exactly a "computer" person.)
But if Mrs. Gregory Gethard WAS to blog about me, her post might read something like this:
"Over the past couple of hours, my heart has been very heavy. I have stood by ... not so silently ... watching as my husband watches ESPN's basketball wrap-up show even though I have asked him several dozens of times to empty the dishwasher. I really do not want to hear about the New Jersey Nets anymore. I don't even really know who they are. I just wish the dishwasher was empty and the sink was clean. The pile of dishes and glasses is disheartening and seemingly unending."
Actually, maybe I don't want her to blog about me after all.
