1) Thomas Jones (RB) Previous Ranking: N/A
Notes: Thomas Jones was as consistent as a Jersey diner this season. Week in and week out, he was the team's best offensive weapon. He probably should have gotten the ball more but that's another story entirely.
2) Alan Faneca (G) Previous Ranking: N/A
Notes: Jones was as good as he was because he had a bunch of earth movers ahead of him. Faneca was selected to the Pro Bowl. I didn't rank him once this season, which serves as proof that I am a big giant dummy.
3) Kris Jenkins (NT) Previous Ranking: N/A
Notes: Kris Jenkins meant everything to the Jets this season. Up until the final few weeks of this dreadful season, the Jets defensive line was tougher than leather. Jenkins was an absolute load up front, clogging up space like a hairball in a kitchen sink.
4) Leon Washington (RB/KR) Previous Ranking: No. 8
Notes: Little Leon was the proverbial bomb this season. Anytime he touched the ball, I expected him to score. Of course, he probably should have gotten the ball more often, but that's another story entirely.
5) Darrelle Revis (CB) Previous Ranking: No. 7
Notes: The Jets cornerback was nastier than old pea soup this season. He's a fantastic young cornerback. Thoughts of him roaming the secondary will keep me warm this cold, long winter.
6) Nick Mangold (C) Previous Ranking: N/A
Notes: Mangold also was named to the Pro Bowl without ever being named to this list. This is full proof that I need to pay more attention to the offensive line when watching football games. But don't we all, really?
7) Calvin Pace (LB) Previous Ranking: N/A
Notes: What's a bigger snub? Calvin Pace not getting a Pro Bowl look or The Wire not getting any awards love? It's probably The Wire, which is only the greatest television show of all time. But Pace was superb this season.
8) Jay Feely(K) Previous Ranking: 3
Notes: Feely had no major flubs this season. That's all anyone can ask out of a kicker.
9) Brett Favre (QB) Previous Ranking: N/A
Notes: The old timer showed a few times this season why he's a Biblical figure in some parts of the world. However, Bad Brett Favre killed the season. But let's remember those five or six games when we got to see the guy at his best.
10) Dick Jauron (Bills Coach) Previous Ranking: N/A
Notes: The Bills coach gave us hope that the playoffs might actually be in reach. Sometimes, hope is all you can ask for. At least us Jets fans had that.
