Devin Harris Burns Bright
The Nets' star is en fuego
by: Gregory Gethard
All hail Devin Harris.
The Nets PG has done it again. Last night, he poured in 42 points, including 24 in the final 13 minutes of the game. And this came only days after he made The Shot, a buzzer-beater worthy of an Oscar, an Emmy and even a Nickelodeon Kid's Choice Award.
His ascent has taken away more breath than asthma. He's gone from relative anonymity to becoming a star. If he keeps this up, he'll be more than just that – he'll be the NBA's aurora borealis.
A perfect storm occurred for the Nets. President Rod Thorn was willing to trade away Jason Kidd, the greatest Net of them all. He took a gamble right out of a Kenny Rogers song. Devin Harris saw his chance. And he's more than made the most of it.
Let this be a lesson to us all. Big chances are worth taking. And once-in-a-lifetime opportunities are worth pursuing.
