NBA Draft Preview: Mock Draft 1
Who will crack the Top 10?
The NBA Draft order has been set.
The following is my first opinion of how the Top-10 picks will shake out come June 25.
1. LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS – BLAKE GRIFFIN, OKLAHOMA
Even with Zach Randolph's contract taking up the majority of the cap, the Clips can't pass up Hall of Fame potential in Griffin.
2. MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES – RICKY RUBIO, SPAIN
The crafty guard will push Mike Conley for the starting job.
3. OKLAHOMA CITY THUNDER – HASHEEM THABEET, UCONN
This game-changer will provide ample insurance behind Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant.
4. SACRAMENTO KINGS – TYREKE EVANS, MEMPHIS
The Kings need everything, so they'll settle with the best one-on-one player in this draft.
5. WASHINGTON WIZARDS – JORDAN HILL, ARIZONA
With Antawn Jamison possibly on the move, Hill provides insurance on the baseline.
6. MINNESOTA TIMBERWOLVES – JAMES HARDEN, ARIZONA ST.
The cerebral guard will get ample touches for Al Jefferson and Kevin Love.
7. GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS – GERALD HENDERSON, DUKE
I'm toying with putting Brandon Jennings here, but right now I'm going with the Blue Devil.
8. NEW YORK KNICKS – TY LAWSON, NORTH CAROLINA
The Tar Heel floor general would be the engine Mike D'Antoni craves.
9. TORONTO RAPTORS – STEPHEN CURRY, DAVIDSON
The sharpshooter could add floor spacing to Bryan Colangelo's array of gunners.
10. MILWAUKEE BUCKS – JONNY FLYNN, SYRACUSE
With Ramon Sessions likely to bolt via free agency, Flynn steps right in.
