Bluelines: Richter to Work for NHLPA?
Former Rangers goalie wants to help out

Could Mike Richter be headed to the NHL Players' Association? The Lester Patrick Award-winner asserts that he would do anything for the union if asked.
Says Richter: "If the League's going to be successful, it needs a Players' Association and the owners working together. It can't be all adversarial. We have different agendas, to an extent, but there is no Players' Association without a League and vice versa. There's been a lot of (NHLPA) upheaval. If they needed me to help them out and if I could offer anything, I certainly would because I went through most of my career with a very strong Players' Association and benefited enormously from it."
Richter, a Yale graduate, also is mulling a career in politics, and is founding partner at Environmental Capital Partners.
