Dinner With Danilo Gallinari
Getting to know the Knicks sophomore forward
by: Tina Cervasio
I recently had the opportunity to sit down for dinner with Knicks forward Danilo Gallinari, his father and some friends. Danilo told me all about his early days playing basketball in Italy and much more.
Watch Part 1 of our dinner interview, learn a song Danilo's friend made up to cheer him on in Part 2 and then check out photos from his childhood.
Dinner with Danilo, Part 1:
The following are the words of the chant, or "song" that Danilo Gallinari's friend, Giovanni Bartocci made up to sing when Gallinari has the ball. Sing it like a chant at a soccer or "futbol" game.
In "Dinner with Danilo, Part 2," Giovanni tries to teach me the song. He then sings it with Danilo's other friend, Gabriele Galletti.
If you come to the Garden for a Knicks Game, you will definitely spot them singing this song.
ITALIAN:
Alé Alé... Alé Alé adesso il Gallo la fa da tre ...
ENGLISH:
Alé Alé... Alé Alé now the Rooster is going to make a three ...
It's better to sing in Italian!!!
