This week's overseas update rolls in with more victories for our players in their overseas gigs. Span the world with us as we dig into these highlights.
In Poland:
Shameka Christon soared to victory once again as Lotos Gdynia beat LKS Siemens, 68-59. Meka finished with 12 points and two steals. The winning streak continued into the Euroleague as Lotos topped Szeviep, 74-61. Meka knocked down five three-pointers for 17 points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals.
Sidney Spencer was unconscious as her 18 points (including three treys) and four boards helped her Polish team defeat Inea AZA P, 94-63. In Euroleague play, Sid's club took on Cathrine Kraayeveld's USK Prague. Cat's squad prevailed, 96-79. Sid chipped in 11 points with two boards and one steal. Cat had a near double-double, wrapping the win with 18 points, nine rebounds and two blocked shots.
In Turkey:
Erlana Larkins assisted Mersin in improving its record to 3-1 after beating Tarsus Bld, 74-64. Erl led all scorers and rebounders with 19 points and nine boards. Mersin advanced to third in the Turkish league standings.
In France:
Essence Carson's Bourges Basket is also enjoying the sweet taste of victory. In Euroleague play, the French club topped MBK Euroleasing, 82-56. E dropped 10 points and grabbed two rebounds. In league action, it was another win, plus seven points and a game-high nine rebound performance from the New Jersey native.
Leilani Mitchell and Arras handed Limoges a 85-56 loss. Lei tore it up, finishing with 14 points, three rebounds, five assists and two steals.
In Israel:
Tiffany Jackson's team came upon some tough competition, as they fell to M.Asdod, 89-56. Tiff was held to six points on two of nine shooting and added five rebounds.
Kia Vaughn's Electra Ramat defeated Elizur Holon, 75-70, to hold onto first place.
In Russia:
Taking on the French league's top team, Janel McCarville and Spartak won 88-74 over Fenerbahce. In this Euroleague matchup, J-Mac poured in 12 points on five of six shooting with two boards and two assists.
In Czech Republic:
Cat Kraayeveld and USK Praha recorded the 10th win on the season as they romped past VS Praha, 103-44. In 10 minutes of play, Cat had three points, grabbed four rebounds, had one assist and one block.
