- The NHL's highest-paid Forgotten Man has to be Rick DiPietro, training to return to the Islanders' crease.
Whena regular Nassau media type was asked when he thought the goalie with the 15-year-contract would start playing again, the reply was: "You'd have a better chance of winning the Lotto than getting that date right!"
However, DP is telling close friends that he's engaged in hard practicing. If successful, Rick could be playing regularly by Christmas – health permitting.
Meanwhile, the Isles are getting by with the Dwayne Roloson-Marty Biron combo. Everybody loves Biron; except for the one bad goal he seems to give up too often. So far Roloson owns the better mark.
