Hey high school lacrosse fans.
I'm Eamon McAnaney from MSG's High School Lacrosse Game of the Week presented by Pontiac, and as part of a new segment we're doing on the show, you can ask me any lacrosse questions you have and I'll respond with my thoughts.
So post your thoughts in the comments section below and I'll get to as many as I can.
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Eamon

MSG.com has learned that one of the top prep school basketball players in the nation, California native Melvyn Oliver, has given a verbal commitment to attend Seton Hall University this fall.
The 6-foot-11, 330-pound center played for Mississippi Elite Christian Academy this past season where he averaged 20 PPG, eight RPG and three BPG, while helping his team to a 20-5 record.
When reached by phone at home Monday night, Oliver's prep school coach Victor Evans told me, "It appears that is the case, but I'm waiting to talk to Melvyn first thing in the morning."
Evans also added, "Oliver has all the tools to be special."
Evans feels a demanding coach like Seton Hall's Bobby Gonzalez will help Melvyn reach his potential.
On the first weekend in May, Oliver is expected to visit the Seton Hall campus and make it official.

One of the nation's top high school quarterbacks has decided to announce early where he will be going to college in 2009. Tom Savage, a product out of Philadelphia's Cardinal O'Hara, will hold a press conference at the school on Thursday at 2:00 pm.
MSG Network has learned that the 6-foot-3, 231-pound pro-style QB is expected to choose Rutgers University, and its Head Coach Greg Schiano, over Miami, Georgia, Tennessee, Louisville, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Michigan, Virginia and Florida State.
Savage has decided to announce before his senior season and will become the third high school football player in the 2009 class to select the Scarlet Knights. Rutgers' football program has never had this many advance verbal commitments in a single year.
The Philly native, who missed five games due to a foot injury as a high school junior, still threw for over 800 yards and eight touchdowns. This is the first time the Scarlet Knights have had a Top-25 prospect select their football program straight out of high school.
I caught up with Savage and asked him why he decided to attend Rutgers and what he hopes to bring to the program.
Talented American Christian Academy (PA) senior guard Tyreke Evans is getting closer to making a decision on where he will attend college next year.
The announcement will take place on April 16th. The schools still involved with the MVP of the McDonald's All-American game are Memphis, Villanova and Seton Hall.
Just last Tuesday, Evans met with Villanova head coach Jay Wright and then on Wednesday evening, Seton Hall head coach Bobby Gonzalez was at the Evans’ family home for an hour and a half. The family was impressed by both coaches and has decided to now choose between the three schools.
The Parade All-American will play at Madison Square Garden April 19th in the Jordan Brand All-American Game.
In other news, the non-story in Sunday's NY Post about the future of Bobby Gonzalez being in jeopardy at Seton Hall has outraged high-ranking officials at the university. Sources tell me this is a "fairy Tale" that is a result of irresponsible journalism.

We last said goodbye to Andrew the Intern in January, but he just couldn't stay away.
Now with VH1, Andrew is back to fill us in on what he's been up to these days.
Apparently, working over at VH1 has added it's toll (and some weight) on young Andrew, but they obviously didn't teach him how to clip on a mic.
Take a look.
Part II: Gene Golda backs up his Federation predictions. Part III: Gene, Andrew and I analyze more matchups. Part IV: According to Andrew, there's no one like us at VH1. Part V: National rankings? I could care less.
Congratulations go out to Gene Golda and his wife Jamie on the birth of their first child, Dominic Joseph, at 4:15 pm at St. Barnabas Hospital in Livingston, NJ.
Dominic weighed in at a healthy 7.2 pounds. Best wishes, buddy.

Alright, I'm back out of on-line hibernation and can't wait to get into the mix with an extended vlog.
To start things off, let me tell you all about Jack Curran Night at Archbishop Molloy High School.

Obviously this weekend is all about Super Bowl Sunday, but before you start watching the big game, check out the Snapple High School Basketball Game of the Week on MSG at 9:00 am.
This week we have some girls basketball on tap, with rivals Trenton HS and Trenton Catholic Academy meeting up.
Here's why we're airing that matchup: MORE:
OK, I'm back, and do we have a fun three-part vlog to kick off 2008.
In part one here, Gene and I talk about his "award-winning" band, "Awful". And you even get to see why they are called that!
All right everyone, I have some terrible news, today is Andrew the Intern's final day with us (cry). So in this part, I give Andrew the opportunity to talk about what he learned and what he'll miss about working here at MSG. I tell you, we won't miss him (actually we will a little, he was a pretty good intern).
I got a good story for you in this one. You see, I got a little sick during the Nike Super 6 Tournament and... well just watch it to find out exactly what happened.
It's a new year, so we're on to a new sport. Football is done, and now it's time for high school hoops.
So, for my first blog 0f '08 let's start the basketball chatter off with Linden High School (NJ) senior standout, Desmond Wade. This kid can play.
Also in this episode, I chat with highly-dedicated production assistant Matt Carson about working at MSG. So if you want to work in sports, have a listen to all the cool stuff he does here.
OK, I'm back and it's basketball time now.
So without further ado, presenting my opening Tri-State Girls Basketball Top-10 list.
With Andrew the Intern gone, I thought it would be a great idea to bring in some special guests for the final vlog of the year. My daughter Katie has wanted to be on the vlog ever since we started it. So, since the kids are off from school for the Holiday break, I brought in Katie, my son Brian, niece Caroline and nephew Paul for guest spots on this two-parter.
The kids were all excited to be on, so without further ado, meet them all in the first part as we talk about coming to The Garden, what they got for Christmas and the infamous tree incident on the Merritt Parkway. No matter what you do, you can't get away from Andrew the Intern. So in this part, the kids give their thoughts on Andrew, talk about the sports they play and also give a New Year's greeting to you all.
Now that the football season is over, we here at High School Weekly are transitioning to basketball. So let's also get the change-over going on the vlog with this three-parter for today.
This vlog is great. You know it and I know it. But now it even fits into a ranking. The President of MSG Network sent out a memo, listing the 50 Greatest Moments at the Network for 2007, and wouldn't you know it, the vlog made the list - at #32. Don't know if that's good or bad.
Anyway, in this one I talk more about that and also just how we transition from football to basketball. Well, it's Christmas time, and there are not many things better than celebrating the Holidays with good people. The High School Weekly Christmas Party was recently held in New Rochelle, and let me tell you, it was phenomenal.
Get the lowdown on the shindig in this segment. Finally, it's the end of the year, and I can't say enough about our sponsors. Without them we wouldn't be able to do what we do here at High School Weekly. So let me take this opportunity to thank you all.
Merry Christmas everyone and a Happy New Year!
Alright, I don't have a lot of time to write this entry, but here's a quick overview of what to expect.
We're shifting gears from football to basketball on High School Weekly and I'm working on piecing together three shows in three days, starting with the Girls Tri-State Basketball Preview Show, airing Christmas night at 10:30 p.m. on MSG.
I have one of the best editors working with me in Ray Nader to give you unprecedented access into the inner workings of my edit sessions.
It's mid-December, so what's better to talk about than football and Christmas. Answer: NOTHING. So, in this four-parter today we have for you, Gene, Jimmy and I, along with a new intern (not Andrew) talk both.
To get it started, Golda, Cavallo and I talk about the nice thing Don Bosco coach Greg Toal did for us, then we dip into some e-mails. In this segment here, we continue the long-standing debate over catholic vs. public high school football. OK, with Christmas less than two weeks away, you've got to have your tree already. Well, I got mine this past weekend in Connecticut and, boy, it was an adventure to get it. Speaking of Christmas trees, it turns out that one of our interns' family runs a Christmas tree farm in Massachusetts. No, it's not Andrew. Introducing, Dan the intern, who stops by to tell us all about the family business.
It's very frustrating when you show up to cover a game and security puts you through the ringer before allowing you in to do your job.
But that didn't stop Gene Golda and I from seeing our PSAL Snapple Football Student Athlete of the Year, Dominick LeGrande, lead Curtis High School to the NYC Championship, 22-16 over Canarsie, on a snow-covered field to wrap up the 2007 football season.
After yesterday's laugher, it's time to get down to business.
In today's entry, Gene Golda, Jimmy Cavallo and I get into a spirited debate about our final high school football poll.
(Look out for another Al Trautwig sighting)
Tons of state championship games were played this weekend, and while there were some great ones and plenty of football to talk about, we are going to start off this segment on a lighter, funnier note.
There's plenty of laughs in this four-parter, but be sure to check back tomorrow when we get down to some serious business and talk about Don Bosco's dominance and the rest of the weekend's action.
First up, Jimmy Cavallo and I get the ball rolling by talking about how cold it was at the games this weekend. Then Al Trautwig, once again, invades our set.
Here, we chat about Al's high school in Connecticut before Cavallo ends it by making us all crack up. You have to see this.
We bring back Andrew the Intern again so he can tell us about how he tried out, but failed to make his high school basketball team and any impact on American Idol.
And finally, Andrew gets one more shot to showcase his singing abilities.
If you liked the last vlog (and I know you did), you're going to love this one.
This whole high school vlog stuff is going great. Everyone is loving it, including the President of this network, who sent out a memo Monday on how much he likes the vlog.
Well, Thursday is Thanksgiving, and of course it's a big day for football. There's a ton, I mean a ton to talk about, so I pulled out all the stops and brought in everybody for this one.
Let's get to it.
In Part 1, Jimmy Cavallo, Andrew the Intern, and Gerald the Security Guard join me to discuss what's going down for Thanksgiving. Then new-comer Al Trautwig stops by to give his take on the vlog. Here in Part 2, Jimmy and Andrew give an update on the search for the perfect turkey for the Thanksgiving trophy. OK, now Part 3 is a big one. It seems we are going to run into a little scheduling problem for the New Jersey State Championship games. Jimmy and I have the lowdown on that, plus we respond to e-mails from Jose, a Xavier alumnus, and Christian, a Darien alumnus. For the final segment, Gene Golda joins me to talk about his "celebrity" status, not having a High School Weekly Thanksgiving Day Special and who has the better fans, St. Peter's or Don Bosco.
Boy, do we have a treat for you today! It's high school football playoff time, and Jimmy Cavallo and I are all fired up! So we have a jam-packed, monumental, four-part vlog packed with a barrel of laughs.
But first off, you have to check out the New Balance High School Weekly Presented by MaxPreps Wednesday at a special time, 7:00 p.m., for a full recap of all the action from this past weekend.
Well, there's a lot to talk about, so let's get to it.
In Part One, Andrew the Intern returns, and Jimmy and I have a little fun at his expense. In Part Two, we talk about New Rochelle's running back Paris Walker and why we do not have separate polls for public and private schools. Great stuff in this one. I got an e-mail from this guy Walt Krauchick, and he says we don't cover Ansonia. Ha! A few weeks ago Jimmy did a piece on the show profiling Chargers' standout RB Alex Thomas. If you missed it, CLICK HERE TO WATCH IT. So in Part Three, Cavallo and I dish on that and also talk about this year's Turkey Trophy for the winner of the Greenwich and Staples Thanksgiving Day game. And you have to watch the finale as we discuss the disaster that was the St. Dominic basketball fund-raising event and the upcoming showdown between Bergen Catholic and St. Peter's.
I am joined by Bob Lalwani, producer of Snapple Game of the Week, who discusses the logistics of the show which airs this week from the North Rockland-New Rochelle matchup. In other games to watch this weekend, the courage award goes to Delbarton QB Brian McMahon, who with the Green Wave takes on St. Joseph's Regional in Bergen County.
It's playoff time in a bunch of divisions in both New York and New Jersey. I saw a lot of great games this past weekend, and this upcoming weekend the games are going to be even better.
One thing I'm not going to do in this v-log, however, is make any predictions on these contests. You'll see why.
