Tonight in Montreal starts an intense stretch of five games in eight days for the Islanders. Due to the 16-day Olympic break in February, every NHL team is going to face a few scheduling challenges this year. For the Isles, this challenge will include playing games against very good teams that all have legit playoff aspirations.

Tonight, the Islanders face off against one of the good stories so far in the NHL season, the Buffalo Sabres. The Sabres (3-0-1) are just one of two teams ? along with Dallas ? that have yet to lose in regulation.

"What Is There To Do? And What Is There To Say?" It once was a top tune - love-song-type on The Hit Parade - but the words also apply to the dear, fond admirers of the Rangers. What IS there to do? A double-dip of weekend Rangers wins is only an Ottawa Senators loss away. That delicious possibility can be realized Sunday night now that Buffalo's playoff hopes have been reduced to NHL ashes. Right now, though, the Rangers are in the middle of the NHL (standings) revolving door. To get through it successfully, they will have to dispose of the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday and the Ottawa Senators on Sunday, both games at the Garden.

The next BIG win for the Rangers could very well be Saturday night against Buffalo at The Garden. In the John Tortorella Era, LARGE victories are beginning to pile up in the most curious of ways. What better example than the seesaw win over Montreal on Tuesday night in Habtown that didn't end until Chris Drury showed that he's called Captain Clutch for a reason. And that reason happened to be THE Shootout goal that found Carey Price's five hole for another New York two-pointer.
