Favorites: Savage
by: Tal Pinch

The rapper known as Savage was making a name for himself in his native New Zealand with his group, Deceptikonz, before his single "Swing" was featured in the movie Knocked Up in 2007. Since then, "Swing" has reached the million-download mark (700,000 digital, 300,000 mobile). With the Samoan star's U.S. debut coming in December, How to Roll managed to get some of Savage's favorites.
Travel: That would be the island of Samoa in the Pacific Ocean. That's where my heritage is and I love going there because it's where my parents and brother live. I lived there when I was a kid and went to school there as well.
Nightlife: Spotlight Live in New York and Geisha House in L.A. I like the atmosphere in both clubs; laid back and relaxing.
Dining: My favorite restaurant is Sam Woo's Yum Cha in South Auckland, New Zealandand my favorite dish there is chop suey.
Gadgets: I love my new blackberry. I'm constantly on it and it has so many handy features. And I can take it all over the world, it works everywhere.
Hobbies: I enjoy fishing and playing Texas Hold 'Em poker. If I wasn't in the music industry, I would be a professional poker player.
Down Time: All of my down time is spent writing new songs or with my family either on holiday, or at home making up for being away in the U.S for months.
