The Concert for New York Remembered

Seven years have passed since the horrific events of September 11, 2001. While we listen to the names of the thousands who died in the attacks as they are read on TV this morning, we remember the great loss as well as the efforts of the first responders and recovery workers.

Just nine days after the attacks - when New York, the nation and the world were still trying to comprehend the impact of the tragedy - a group of musicians came together to raise money for the families of those lost while saluting the people working to restore as much normalcy as possible. The Concert for New York, featuring stirring performances by Paul McCartney, Billy Joel, Elton John, The Who, Jay-Z, David Bowie and Bon Jovi and more, rocked Madison Square Garden on September 20, 2001. A documentary about the concert, "The Concert for New York Remembered," airs tonight at 8PM on MSG.
